TJX Senior Media Manager in Massachusetts

As the Sr. Media Manager, you will develop and manage paid media strategies for multiple domestic brands across all audio and video channels. You will also manage the team responsible for planning media to support the opening of new stores across all channels. You will be working closely with the Digital Media team to develop holistic media plans that drive the business and help to achieve marketing objectives. In this role, you will also work closely with the Media Manager and the media agency to develop a center of excellence and thought leadership in the audio and video space on behalf of all domestic brands.
Major Areas of Responsibility
Manages and executes paid media including television, online video, radio, streaming audio, print and out of home, ensuring brand objectives are fully supported across media channels
Partners with the AVP of Media, Digital Media and CRM to develop channel roles and determine each brand’s holistic media strategy
Acts as the voice of traditional media in Annual and Seasonal Planning, partnering with cross-functional business teams (including Brand, PR, Digital Media, CRM, Consumer Insights) to bring each brand’s creative platforms to life through strategies, tactics and execution of plans
Collaborates with Consumer Insights, Brand and Digital Media to determine the brand’s overall media targeting strategy
Leads planning and execution of linear TV, VOD, OTT and digital video strategy (including Upfront planning and negotiations) in partnership with the media agency and the AVP of Media
Partners with and manages the media agency on a day-to-day basis to develop strategies and plans and to manage execution
Manages day-today operations of traditional media investments, including but not limited to TV integrations, TV and radio added value, etc.
Manages key documents associated with traditional media (flowcharts, spend charts, schedules, etc.)
Partners with the Media Manager on cross-channel measurement studies and traditional media channel analyses to understand the impact of media channels and determine the optimal media mix for each brand moving forward
Oversees the planning of Grand Openings for multiple US brands across traditional and digital channels
Leads the reporting of quarterly media metrics across all global TJX brands in the US, Canada, Europe and Australia
Plans, manages and reconciles the traditional media marketing budget
Works with the Media Manager to understand and take action against the results of regular broadcast media audits
Manages staff and develops them for future growth within the department and organization. Coach staff on performance and professional development opportunities. Motivates staff to achieve efficiency and productivity. Conducts performance appraisals, interviews and discipline/documentation as needed.
Leads development of an audio and video center of excellence within the Media team by staying abreast of the changing dynamics of the audio and video media landscape; works with the AVP of Media and the AVPs Digital Marketing team to generate thought leadership from the media agency to keep the broader marketing organization educated about the evolving landscape
Makes strategic recommendations to key stakeholders in order to gain alignment on traditional media.
Key point of contact for traditional media expertise within Corporate Marketing.
Recruits, manages, motivates and develops Grand Opening Planner(s).
Training, development & disciplinary decisions.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Advertising, or related field. MBA preferred.
8-12 years of experience working in traditional media. Deep experience in TV, digital video radio, streaming audio, print and outdoor and working with an integrated media team. Significant exposure to digital, social and mobile marketing.
At least 5 years managing direct reports.
Deep understanding of traditional media channels.
Experience working in an integrated media environment with exposure to digital, social and mobile media channels.
Experience managing agency relationships.
Collaborative team player.
Ability to work with and influence at all levels of the organization.
Self-motivated and self-directed.
Knowledge of retail industry is a plus but not required.
Hunger for continuous learning in the media space and desire to continue to evolve the traditional media mix and the media mix overall to suit consumer behaviors.
