The Communications Coordinator is actively involved in the Communication Department’s ongoing efforts to raise public awareness of PPLM and PPAF through traditional and digital communication channels. As a communications generalist, this individual has their hands in a variety of communications work, including media relations, advocacy communications, and supporter engagement. The Coordinator strives to expand the reach and impact of our supporter engagement platforms (email, website and social media) by delving into analytics and researching and testing out best practices. This role is shared between PPLM and its advocacy arm, the Planned Parenthood Advocacy Fund.
Under the direction of the Communications Manager, draft content for the Advocacy Fund’s social media properties and research and test best practices.
Build digital supporter email communications, action alerts and event forms using CRM system, Convio Luminate. Write and edit supporter email communications as needed.
Track media coverage of PPLM/PPAF and monitors daily or breaking news about relevant local and national politics and issues pertaining to PPLM/PPAF.
Participate in evaluation of digital content and campaign metrics and make recommendations when analytics indicate content and dissemination strategies should be adjusted.
Write, edit, and update content for pplmvotes.org, including blogs and issue pages.
B.A. degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
1-3 years of experience in a communications or external relations role
Must have experience using multiple social media platforms, preferably in administrator role.
Demonstrated ability to work with people of different races, ethnicities, sexual and gender identities and expressions, ages, abilities and experiences”

Experience with online content management systems preferred.
Must be able to meet deadlines, balance multiple duties, and work well under pressure with many projects occurring simultaneously.
Strong organization and project management skills and ability to problem solve and think innovatively.

Compensation range: $38,000-41,000/annually
