Summary:

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for increasing sales and profitability through the Maxon Dealer network in the commercial and government channel. The Business Development Manager is a link between the Maxon Field Sales team and the independent dealer channel. You will work directly with Maxon Channel partners to develop strategy ensuring successful attainment of organizational goals. Key activities are focused in the area of selling, marketing, training, and product education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategy with assigned dealer distributors to meet or exceed quarterly and annual goals.

  • Develop dealer distribution to attain sales targets and growth.

  • Prepare and present quarterly market reviews with Maxon leadership.

  • Implement GO Maxon SPIF program for distribution channels.

  • Educate Distribution channels through various modes of training including (but not limited to) webinars, onsite training, “Lunch and Learns”, etc.

  • Manage, oversee, and generate sales activities within the territory. Identify, track, and manage potential opportunities utilizing CRM software.

  • Serve as a conduit between DSR partners, Sales Solution Representatives, marketing, engineering, and manufacturing.

  • Promote the effective use of sales promotion and marketing programs. Make persuasive presentations on Maxon product and capabilities.

  • Confer with supervisor and peers in the development of business activities. Coordinate Maxon’s selling efforts in a team oriented selling environment.

  • Serve as mentor to Business Development Associates.

  • Participate in activities as appropriate to ensure the success of the organization.

Requirements

Experience/Education Required and/or Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business related field required.

  • 3-5 years of experience in a business development role preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required and/or Preferred:

  • Strategic orientation demonstrating a vision for the future.

  • Understand and monitor financial metrics.

  • Must work effectively with cross functional groups.

  • Must be self-motivated with a strong results orientation.

  • Strong industry knowledge or comparable business acumen.

  • Must demonstrate technological capabilities with regard to web applications and the Microsoft Office suite.
