The Senior Product Specialist, Wound Care, will be expected to assist with the development and implementation of marketing plans for the wound care portfolio within the US region. This individual will need to establish, enhance, and distinguish product placement in the acute care and extended care channels while also working closely with their counterparts in the global marketing organization. Primary responsibility will be executing on strategic programs and initiatives to drive revenue and accelerate the growth of the wound care category.
The Senior Product Specialist is responsible for:
Executing the tactical plan for marketing strategies and programs, both short-and long-term, to ensure the sales and margin performance goals of the business are achieved.
Assisting in the development of pricing and product positioning strategies to optimize revenue, market share and profitability.
Providing category and market insights through a strong working knowledge of the wound care portfolio, market trends, competitive behavior and customer segments
Regular report-outs to management with insights and recommended actions required to exceed financial commitments.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and promote various products and programs.
Traveling with field sales to provide support and help defend and grow business with key customers.
Developing and conducting product presentations, using a variety of mediums, to most effectively position the sales force for success.
Establishing and maintaining relationships with industry influencers and strategic partners.
Identifying new product, program or service growth opportunities and preparing business plans to gain internal support and resources.
Developing partnerships with broader Medtronic marketing and functional teams in support of the objectives identified by the Patient Recovery division.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited univeristy; a MBA is preferred.
3-5 years of experience in Medical Sales and/or Marketing.
Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, independent, driven individual to meet objectives.
Strong analytical skills allowing for quick assessment of situations, trade-offs and ability to recommend appropriate course of action.
Ability to multitask and prioritize while managing multiple projects and day to day responsibilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and comfort presenting to internal and external audiences.
Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
Must be able to travel 15% of the time, which may include some nights and weekends.
