Sr. Technical Writer

Job Description:

Create technical content for how-to guides, reference guides, administrator guides, deployment guides, context-sensitive help. The information developers work in engineering Scrum teams and use the Scrum methodology to design, develop, and deliver value to our customers.

Responsibilities include:

Document product features and use cases with an easy-to-understand style, technical accuracy, and attention to detail while adhering to department standards. Learn how to use the HPE-SimpliVity product family. Participate on multiple Scrum teams. Deliver high-quality, reusable topics in support of each Scrum team by the end of each sprint. Collaborate with Scrum Masters and Product Owners on each Scrum team to make the multi-team assignment work as efficiently as possible. Collaborate on Information Engineering department initiatives to ensure continuous improvement.

Education and Experience Required:

Typically a First Level University degree in Technical Communications, Computer Science or related technical/communications field and a minimum of 6+ years related experience or an Advanced University degree and a minimum of 4-6 years experience or equivalent. 3+ years of experience documenting enterprise storage and/or enterprise networking products.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience with DITA, XML authoring tools, and content management. Modular content development – topics, maps, reuse libraries, conditional tagging, semantic markup, and metadata. Experience documenting networking software, distributed systems, or equivalent complex software products. Experience documenting tasks using multiple product interfaces, for example, CLI, GUI, REST, etc. Experience writing for multiple audiences, for example, customers, Support, internal engineering, and community. Outstanding communication skills.
