Senior Product Manager

We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to join the Appliance Product Management team. This role will report to the Vice President of Appliance Product Management and will lead a product team, driving overall execution of the Specialty Brewer Program.

What you will do:

  • Lead a cross-functional team through a range of New Product Development, Market Research, and Sustaining Product Management activities

  • Be accountable for overall performance of the product, including P&L responsibilities (e.g., on-time, on-cost delivery pre-launch, financial objectives post-launch)

  • Manage specific product or groups of products ‘cradle to grave’, including:

o Creating product requirements based on consumer needs and economic factors

o Making decision on budgetary tradeoffs to ensure timely delivery of project

o Coordinating and overseeing progress across team ‘workstreams’ (e.g., engineering, procurement)

o Escalating ‘divergences from plan’ to appropriate governing bodies (e.g., Appliance GM, ELT)

  • Manage communications around program development with senior leadership (including Appliance GM, and Product Council)

  • Ensure product projects deliver against goals

  • Participate in key sales and marketing presentations

  • Leverage analysis of sales information, projections, and other meaningful data and understand and lead forecasts on market evolution and company products

  • Influence promotions and advertising efforts of products or brands under your responsibility

  • Provide short-term and long-term strategic direction

  • Have a strong leadership understanding of the product’s role in the portfolio and impact to the profit and loss of the company

  • Be responsible for analyzing market data, consumer insights, product performance, and making strategic recommendation about product and product line plans

  • Execute product initiatives that support the broader short term and long term objectives of the company

  • Develop product requirements and creative briefs to drive product development activities

  • Lead cross-functional team through Stage Gate process to develop new products

  • Direct Consumer Insights team in development of research that informs product strategy

  • Manage continuous improvement of product line to meet emerging consumer needs and optimize business performance

  • Track projects against set objectives, analyze and evaluate success of the projects, and pursue path to optimization

  • Mentor the more junior members or the team

What you must have:

  • 6-8 years of product management experience in the consumer packaged goods industry

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Engineering and/or related field required; MBA preferred

  • Comfort managing a P&L with supervision

  • Combination of marketing, technical, or engineering background

  • Experience in product management, ideally with ‘cradle to grave’ approach

  • Familiarity with agile teams

  • Creative mindset and passion for product marketing and consumer packaged goods

  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral, with all levels of the organization and externally with partners

  • Extraordinary organizational skills and attention to detail; able to shift priorities quickly and remain calm and focused under pressure; able to manage multiple projects/requests and meet deadlines

  • Good judgment; understand when to involve others in the decision-making process

  • Ability to work well independently and with a team

  • Experience with product management, new product development, and product line management

  • Demonstrated success introducing products to consumer/commercial market

  • Ability to interface with technical resources in developing and designing brewing systems and Sales team on go-to-market activities

  • Ability to manage highly complex projects with strong attention to detail

  • Solid working knowledge of MS Office; comfort with the Web and social sites

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong sense of urgency

  • Up to 25% Travel
