Communications Associate Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required: Associate degree in Marketing/Communications or related field. Must be able to comprehend and clearly relate technical details Strong writing and editing skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Competence using MS Office Must possess a valid drivers licence, travel is required between facilities Preferred: Bachelor Degree in Marketing/Communications 2-4 years experience in marketing or related field Experience with Adobe InDesign, or other graphic design programs a plus Bilingual desired Overview The Communications Associate is a non-exempt, overtime eligible position that reports to the Executive Team. The Communications Associate is responsible for a variety of day-to-day administrative tasks for the Marketing Department and will be expected to produce high-quality communications material, help to organize press events, contribute to online communications, and act as a liaison. Essential Functions Assist in the development and implementation of strategic press plans for campaigns. Assist in planning, organizing, and pitching of high quality press events. Draft and edit press releases, blog posts, social media content (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), and other communications material that deliver consistent messages with impact. Work with CSI Sales Team to provide communications support. Track press coverage and build highly targeted press lists for use. Provide general support and coordination for the Marketing Department, collaborating with Executive Assistant to manage the department calendar (tradeshows, holiday cards, training material for guests), general and scheduling for meetings. Create an organizational publication to communicate with employees the new products that have been released or Charm's initiatives in the market. Physical Requirements There are a number of deadlines associated with this position, which may cause significant stress. The person must also deal with a wide variety of people on various issues. The Communications Associate will spend long hours sitting, using office equipment such as a copy machine and computer. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access, for example, file cabinets, audio/video equipment, and office machinery. The person in this position frequently communicates with CSI team members regarding product information. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. The Communications Associate is located in a busy, open area office; this position is faced with constant interruptions. Accountabilities Recommend and implement site design. Create marketing and promotional materials, both print and electronic that are free from grammatical errors. Accurately and clearly write product reference material, promotion collateral, case studies, white papers and all communications. Ensure the timely delivery of coherent and compelling messages, publications and successful broadcasting in print and media.
