Job Description:

CPSD Software Commercial Lead

Objective: Define, Develop, Manage, and Maintain the Commercial strategy and operations for the Converged Platform Solutions Division (CPSD) Software portfolio of products.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure commercial capabilities for the seamless introduction of new software offers from the CPSD Software Development team

  • Support the CPSD Software Development team in the defining of commercial packaging, commercial units, and price points for new CPSD Software offerings

  • Support the CPSD Software Product Management team to ensure commercial mechanisms exist to support the full end to end Lead to Cash cycle inclusive of initial pursuit sale, licensing/entitlement, support and subsequent sale of License upgrade and Support Renewals

  • Explore and propose different Open Source licensing and enterprise support models to facilitate creative commercial offers to meet market needs

  • Drive commercial process, tools/system enhancements to facilitate the Field enabled commercial offering of CPSD Proprietary Software offers

  • Support the Sales Enablement and Communication of CPSD Proprietary Software commercial offerings

  • Negotiate commercial terms and conditions with other Software vendors/groups both internal and external to Dell Technologies in support of inclusion and/or bundling of underlying software capabilities within broader CPSD Software offerings

  • Establish, Manage, and Monitor Discounting Mechanisms and Approval Governance processes associated with the transacting of CPSD Proprietary Software offers

  • Develop mechanisms by which to track and monitor commercial aspects and performance of the product offerings leveraging commercial transaction data at both a micro and macro level

  • Obtain/Capture and Analyze Market data to support on-going CPSD Proprietary Software Product, Pricing, and Commercial enhancements

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have significant experience in open source governance, product and community management

  • Have a strong product management background and experience supporting product management

  • Have a solid track record of success working with engineering and legal to establish and validate open source compliance

  • Be knowledgeable in current open source licensing options and their application

  • Be comfortable negotiating and establishing commercial terms and cooperative support agreements

SKILLS:

  • Critical reasoning skills combined with decisive decision making skills

  • Should possess deep knowledge in open source projects and frameworks

  • Written, verbal, and diagrammatic communication skills

  • Should possess a sound technical knowledge of the various current technologies such as J2EE, Open Source, Messaging infrastructures and so on

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent..

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 8 years related experience. Excellent financial modeling, written and verbal communication skills; ability to lead and direct multiple projects simultaneously; ability to delegate work to subordinate or less experienced team members; proven leadership ability.
