Dell Executive Communications Program Manager in Hopkinton, Massachusetts
Dell is currently seeking an Advisor to serve as an Executive Communications Program Manager across external- and internal-facing programs in support of the Executive Communications function with a priority to support the Infrastructure Solutions Group. This is a global role with broad responsibilities to support overall communications strategy, programs, events and deliverables related to driving brand reputation programs, executive visibility and speakerships, team member communications and external thought leadership messaging and platforms.
The successful candidate will have both internal and external communications experience, strong program management experience, strong writing skills, enterprise IT experience, and broad knowledge of the IT industry overall to ensure that Dell and the Infrastructure Solutions Group are well understood and supported both by Dell team members and industry influencers. Experience supporting executive communications programs and working with senior-level executives is highly desired.
This role will be responsible for partnering with organizations across the company to drive consistency in message and process with regard to the Executive Communications function with priority support for the Infrastructure Solutions Group. The successful candidate should have experience developing content independently and collaboratively with other functional teams, such as Public Relations, Marketing and Analyst Relations. The candidate should also possess technical experience across a range of communications channels and platforms, including blogs, videos, internal channels and social/digital platforms, as well as experience in conducting and managing press and analyst briefings. Prior experience in B2B communications is highly desirable. Understanding of top-tier press, analysts and/or influencers who cover enterprise computing and IT infrastructure solutions is necessary. This individual should have experience in partnering with senior business leaders, communications colleagues and outside agencies to drive and enhance business results across highly-matrixed organizations.

This individual must show the ability to maintain and build strategic relationships with colleagues, executives, team members and influencers. S/he will have proven capability in contributing to a world-class communications function.
Program management support across the Global Executive Communications function with priority support for the Infrastructure Solutions Group.
Create and manage both internal (team member) and external (PR/AR/Social/Digital) programs in support of the Infrastructure Solutions Group.
Support development of priority narratives/messaging to ensure effective internal/external storytelling.
Partner with Executive Communications leaders and other communications colleagues to proactively communicate relevant news internally as well as to the press and analyst communities.
Work with Corporate Communications and other communications functions as necessary to develop proactive and reactive communications plans, including internal/external speaking points and media statements.
Provide communications support, as necessary, for the President of the Infrastructure Solutions Group.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of technology-related communications experience, with at least 2 years representing enterprise-focused vendors and at least 1 year (preferred) managing communications for a senior-level executive.
Experience managing the planning and execution of events is required.
Excellent interpersonal and executive presence skills.
Strong written and verbal communications skills; ability to think on feet.
Ability to synthesize, interpret and summarize third-party analysis and research for cross-functional audiences.
Experience interacting at all levels of a company, including senior management.
Self-organized, self-starter, with a demonstrated ability to achieve objectives.
Able to operate in matrix organizations and manage multiple projects concurrently; comfortable working with remote colleagues and stakeholders; experience working across disciplines and geographies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or related field required.
Knowledge of internal communications strategies and best practices
Knowledge of external communications strategies and best practices
Knowledge in managing all aspects of special events and speakerships
Strategic and technical understanding of blog platforms, video production and webcasts
Knowledge of major press outlets (and reporters) and top-tier industry analysts firms (and analysts)
Proficiency in using online tracking and measurement tools desired
Proficiency in digital/social networking platforms, MS Word, Outlook, Power Point and Excel mandatory
