Staples Project Specialist Supplier Programs in Framingham, Massachusetts

Position Summary

This position is an integral component of the Merchandising department. This role will help execute supplier programs (Staples Business Advantage and Staples.com) that provide our biggest suppliers value and assets while driving profitable sales. The position will work as a liaison to our Suppliers, Merchants, Marketing and Sales teams. This role will also be responsible forstrategically driving sales by developing, implementing and executing promotional activities within Staples Business Advantage.

Assist in the development of a go-forward strategy for the Strategic Supplier Programs

  • Define initiatives in partnership with the business owners (Merchants, eCommerce, Marketing, Sales)

  • Evaluate program components throughout the year and recommend changes and additions to fulfill the needs of suppliers

  • Drive cross functional leadership to execute changes in strategy based on recommendations

    Execute components of the Supplier Programs and related Marketing campaigns

  • Proactively track and communicate Key Supplier Program activities, changes, and opportunities by ensuring that deadlines are met and that Sales and Sales Management are accessing tools and marketing materials provided by the Key Suppliers

  • Set-up, activate and launch program activities such as box insert sampling, direct mail, emails, sales incentives, etc.

  • Meet with suppliers one-on-one to plan activities by quarter and to recommend program to help them launch new products or initiatives

    Collaborate with Merchants and Marketing to develop strategic promotions to drive incremental sales and margin in product category owned

  • Monitor ongoing performance for initiatives relative to sales goals

  • Use promotional results to influence future promotional planning and provide data and information to assist with selection of promotional items

  • Use strong analytical skills to ensure initiative resource needs will align with the expected return on investment

    Develop and refine processes - Recommend and implement innovative ideas targeted at improving promotional pricing efficiencies

    Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree

  • 2-4 years related work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage day-to-day project execution and implementation.
  • Highly detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal/relationship building skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
