Staples Manager – Data Analytics and Strategic Reporting in Framingham, Massachusetts
This position will be responsible for development and implementation of the US Retail field reporting & metrics strategy. Included in this is ensuring data is accurate, timely, and actionable to support our business goals. This role partners cross-functionally with multiple teams, i.e. Staples Digital solutions, Business Intelligence, Finance to build a strong Governance process to drive prioritization, development and implementation of reporting changes and enhancements. Additionally, this position works with our key business partners across Print & Marketing Services, Merchandising, Marketing, LP, eCommerce, and others to ensure that key programs and related data needed by our field team to drive results is properly represented in our field reporting.
To be successful, this Manager must be a strategic thinker who is able to prioritize field and home office requests in alignment with US Retail’s short terms goals and long term objectives. He/she will own the US Retail monthly scorecard and Business Review reporting. Working closely with the Manager of Selling operations (BizFIT tool business owner), this position will also be driving the successful execution of a store selling environment through the effective delivery and communication of all field and home office facing analytics. He/she will leverage a combination of strong organization, project management, relationship building, and communication skills on a daily basis to design and execute analytical reporting processes, and have a proven track record of influencing without authority, as well as collaborating with cross-functional and cross-channel teams.
The position’s primary business goals are: * To project manage reporting related deliverables for US retail field team including scorecards. * Evolve and innovate field reporting tools; leveraging changes in technology, industry trends, user feedback. * Ownership of data validation for US Retail key reporting tools in partnership with SDS and cross-functional partner teams and to escalate issues in a timely manner. * Establishing a strong Governance process in partnering with the BI team and other cross-functional teams. Impact on Business * Shapes the long-term reporting needs of the US retail business through strategic thinking * Owns data accuracy and validation process for US Retail field reporting * Owns the BI Governance process conducting governance meetings, prioritizing requests and setting expectations * Collaborates with the Staples Digital Solution team (SDS) and other functional areas to drive programs, complete services and product introductions and delivers results. * Maintains, adjusts and updates project plans. Consolidates, communicates and ensures resolution of all issues on a timely basis. * Represents the team at meetings and events, communicating strategy and priorities to senior level partners. * Build relationships across the organization – home office and field - at peer and director level to influence outcomes and to facilitate product implementations. Innovation and Change * Benchmarks industry reporting trends to continuously improve Staples customer experience and results * Evolving and thinking outside the box in terms of best practices to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of long term US Retail reporting
Minimum requirements * Bachelors’ Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting * Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Financial data analytics and Project management. * Working knowledge of MS office Preferred * MBA * Retail experience * Advanced excel knowledge * Familiarity with reporting tools (ex: Tableau, Microstrategy, power BI)
