Position Title: Content and Communications Strategist & Marketing Coordinator Intern

This is a summer intern position through August.

POSITION SUMMARY :

The Content and Communications Strategist/Marketing Coordinator has the responsibility to provide support to the Director of Sales for all marketing focus areas. POSITION DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Create, copyedit, proofread and revise designated press release communications to the public and Overlook Community on all current events.

  • Provide assistance in the assimilation of data, research and compose articles for the quarterly Masonic Trowel magazine publication.

  • Work closely with Team Members to generate new ideas and content for posts on all designated social media outlets.

  • Support assistant to the CEO and People & Culture Department, in drafting/editing meaningful memorandums and communications to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Use photography to significantly enhance and capture spontaneous and planned programming and events for greater showcasing and sharing of happenings for those living and working at The Overlook, as well as to promote and release media & social media.

  • Help plan, organize, and infuse new and creative ideas for campus wide events such as: Annual Fall Festival and Resident & Team Member engagement experiences.

  • Implement Waitlist depositor events, newsletters, etc to keep engagement high.

  • Maintain a professional marketing environment and model The Overlook’s Guiding Principles and The Overlook Way, with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Review and provide feedback on monthly marketing blogs.

  • Perform administrative duties for the Marketing Department.

  • Assist with the Marketing Plan as directed by the Director of Sales.

  • Greet visitors and provide information when Team Members are not available. Answer the telephone, take messages, and reply to questions in accordance with general instructions and hospitality best practices.

  • Communicate relevant information to and from staff as appropriate.

  • Coordinate and help to ensure seamless and extraordinary Resident move-ins and experiences.

  • Abide by and set an example for upholding departmental, personnel and company policies procedures and Guiding Principles.

  • Demonstrate initiative by developing innovative ways to enhance marketing services.

  • Must meet regular and predictable attendance requirements.

  • Performs additional job duties as assigned and directed.

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Rising Junior or Senior in undergrad program in a public relations/related field.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills a must.

  • Ability to communicate well with prospects, Residents/older adults and family members, as well as community Team Members.

  • Bi-lingual abilities an added plus. Particularly in Spanish and/or Portuguese.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages as is relevant to the role.

  • Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to coordinate many different activities simultaneously.

  • Computer literate in office applications (Excel, Microsoft Word, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.) which support the efforts of the Sales Department

  • Accurate Typing and strong grammatical skills.

  • Pleasant personality with outstanding telephone skills, demonstration of patience and kindheartedness, as well as penchant for promoting a welcoming environment focused on hospitality and genuine caring.

  • Well-groomed and dressed according to OC policy.

  •  Ability to maintain professional attitude at all times, even under pressure and tight timelines.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS : Primary work will be performed indoors in an office setting, may be exposed to the elements (heat, cold, rain, snow); walking and standing frequently; occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds.

The organization embraces its rich history and heritage, owning and managing 218 Independent Living Apartment Homes and Cottages, 28 Enhanced Care Private Suites, a 14- Suite Assisted Living Memory Care neighborhood, 27-unit Short-term Post-Acute Rehabilitation, 112-bed Long Term Care Skilled Nursing, as well as Home Health, Hospice, Palliative Care, Private Duty, Adult Day Services and Care Management divisions.
