Akamai is looking for a Product Manager with the creativity, vision, and experience to drive development of how our users create, configure, and operate our web performance solutions.
This individual would be responsible for our customer configuration and operations interfaces (UI & API).
Responsibilities would include but not be limited to:
Be an expert on the domain, the market, the competitors, the trends
Own the product vision and strategy.
Ensure that it aligns with the overall product and company vision.
Evangelize the product vision constantly to internal and external stakeholders so all are aligned, have context and understand where we are going
Manage execution against the product strategy.
Make tough day-to-day tactical prioritization decisions while helping the company think longer-term
Build trust with stakeholders by maintaining and delivering an understandable, accurate roadmap.
Analyze metrics to maximize product usage, revenue, and profitability
Partner with engineering on product design and functionality
Lead cross-functional teams including engineering, operations, sales, support, finance, legal and marketing through various launch phases and follow-on releases to deliver the vision

The team behind these products is a group of industry leading product and engineering professionals dedicated to technology innovation that improves the performance of our customers web sites, web businesses, and web experiences.
Applicants must meet one of the following education and experience requirements:
8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or
6 years of relevant experience and a Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field or
3 years of relevant experience and a PhD or
Equivalent professional experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience with product management and/or product development
Minimum of 1 year of experience with web applications and cloud based services and solutions
Minimum of 1 year experience working in an agile software development environment
Outstanding ability to gather and distill requirements from users, technical support, marketing, etc; and translate into an actionable vision and set of priorities.
A desire and ability to learn new technologies quickly
An ability to analyze business opportunities and execute against them
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presenting to executive leadership, participating in the sales cycle, and handling sensitive customer escalations.
Tenacious customer advocacy within a cross-functional environment to deliver results
Extensive hands-on experience using Akamai Web Performance Solutions, alternative CDN offerings, cloud computing (EC2, Azure, Google), and/or proxy solutions
Experience with A/B or multivariate testing techniques
Experience with continuous integration, continuous deployment, and common DevOps tooling (chef, puppet, jenkins, etc)
Comfortable scripting against RESTful APIs and examining HTTP requests and responses
Master in business administration (MBA) from a leading school
