Cell is seeking a full-time scientific editor eager to contribute his/her skills and knowledge to advancing and shaping science and scientific communication. As a member of the editorial team, you would be responsible for a broad range of contributions to the journal including recruiting exciting studies; assessing submitted research papers; selecting and collaborating with top notch referees; identifying timely, emerging topics to commission for articles in Cell’s Leading Edge; and writing content for the journal, the homepage and social media outlets. The job also entails traveling to scientific conferences and research institutions where you will directly engage with the scientific community and cutting-edge research developments. The range of topics Cell covers will afford you the opportunity make connections between advancing trends across fields and gain a bird’s eye view of the trajectory of biological research.
These are full-time in-house editorial positions, based at the Cell Press office in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Cell Press offers an attractive salary and benefits package and a stimulating working environment. Applications will be held in the strictest of confidence.
The minimum qualification for this position is a Ph.D. and some postdoctoral experience. Candidates with further professional experience such as working as an editor or publisher, running a lab, or doing research in biotech/pharma are also encouraged to apply. We welcome applications from scientists with expertise in any area of biomedicine, including emerging areas, and encourage experts in the areas of human genetics, technology development, and translational research to apply.
