Duties & Responsibilities The Manager will work with the Associate Director, Communications and other Global Experience Office team members to manage planning and execution of the FIELD Global Immersion (FGI), Immersive Field Courses (IFCs), and Extended Field Courses (EFCs). He or she will lead large scale projects across curriculums and work closely with the Manager on the Operations team to increase efficiency and communication across courses. Specific responsibilities will include:
Work with Associate Director on overall communications strategy. Lead planning and execution on student programming– being sure to apply strategy and lessons learned across curriculums.
Lead the planning and execution of RC travel clinics – collaborating with HUHS and other HBS departments as necessary.
Manage all aspects of visa support across curriculums.
Collaborate with Operations and EC work streams to leverage processes and strategy across curriculums, while emphasizing a tailored approach given the student audience and differing course support models.
Collaborate with the Operations work stream to develop and deliver the Travel Info Lunches and Pre-Departure Sessions for FGI.
Lead planning and execution of the FGI country reveal event.
Collaborate with the Associate Director on all aspects of the FGI teaming process (preference poll creation and programming, technology around country reveal, data collection, team assignment etc.).
Manage the FGI student rep program.
Work across GEO teams to plan and execute any additional student programming or services, such as course info sessions, student webinars, walk-in hours, etc.
Develop strategy for utilization of existing resources and discovery/vetting of new resources (student prep, travel, program manager, etc) and develop and execute deployment practices.
Develop the strategy, best practices and scheduling for management of the inbox. Work with the coordinator, to staff the GEO inbox throughout the year.
Serve as a traveling Program Manager on GEO-supported courses; Assist with site assessments, and logistics presentations to students as needed; Other MBA duties, as needed.
Basic Qualifications 5 years of experience in a project management or communications role.
Additional Qualifications BA/BS desired.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal/ written communication and presentation skills. Comfort in working with a high-energy student population in addition to a wide variety of other constituents.
Demonstrated experience in event management and/or project management. Ability to design, implement, and assess new processes.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a track record of project follow-through.
Proven ability to work autonomously and as a team member.
Ability to multitask and deliver high-quality work while operating in a fast-paced, high-energy environment. Highly motivated by new challenges.
Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint required, plus comfort working with new technology systems.
Flexibility and willingness to travel both internationally and domestically.
Knowledge of international travel requirements (passports, visas, entry requirements, etc.)
Knowledge of QuickBase or other relational database system
Knowledge of HBS systems and processes
