We are looking for dynamic Director/Executive-level Editorial and Content Creation professionals with experience in higher education, publishing environments, who has lead teams in in developing and delivering Private Sector Education strategy and individual proposals based on existing marketplace data and research and demonstrate relevance to customer as well as to Elsevier's overall strategy.

Job description :
In this position, you would be developing and delivering a data-driven, customer use-case focused content publishing strategy for assigned portfolio bearing significant revenue, with focus on migrating content to compelling electronic formats and functionality to drive usage. A lot of your focus would be centered around optimizing portfolio performance to drive growth and profitability and assisting with strategic perspective.
What you’ll be doing :
Defining and directing a media-neutral content publishing strategy supporting migration from print to electronic solutions; ensuring customer needs are met and content currency goals are achieved
Pursuing partnerships (internally and externally) to uncover/develop new business opportunities.
Maintaining up-to-date, in-depth understanding of the issues, trends, needs and preferences of user base in order to provide high-quality information resources.
Developing network of high quality contacts; identify potential authors, current and emerging leaders, teachers and clinicians.
Directing a product portfolio to achieve budgeted publication dates, revenue, profits and overall financial goals. Special attention must be given to containing costs as we migrate from a traditional print to a digital first strategy and proposals must achieve margin guidelines set by VP. Must meet or exceed your individual proposal and signing goals as well as ensure publication schedules are met.
Defining deliverables and key result areas for individual content strategists; oversee contractual negotiations.Taking necessary action to deliver according to plan and mitigate risk.
Providing leadership to a team, including mentoring, motivating, identifying and growing talent within the business; coach team on resources available for professional development of self and reports.
Collaborating and facilitating team collaboration across all layers of the organization to ensure market content needs are met
Liaising with many cross functional colleagues to drive revenue growth and content usage.
Collaborating to develop products that satisfy a global audience, as well as electronic platform content gaps,
Developing and maintaining strong relationships with authors and subject matter experts, and developing deep domain expertise through these relationships and by attending relevant customer meetings and conferences.
Identifying key partnerships to drive revenue and increased content distribution/usage.
Responsible for developing, managing and achieving budget, with demonstrated cost containment, for individual titles and for overall portfolio.
What you should bring :
Bachelor’s degree required; advance degree preferred
In-depth understanding all stages of the publishing and product development process.
Extensive and varied experience in all aspects of the publishing process including content acquisitions, development and implementation of strategy, and market/customer analysis
Customer/market focused; strong academic and commercial judgment
Successful track record for delivering results
Ability to/experience with work within matrixed and entrepreneurial units
Strategic planning and budgeting expertise.
Strong analytical skills
Strong leadership skills including change management, risk taking, negotiating/influencing, communication and mentoring
Proven success in accomplishing content acquisition goals
People management experience
Experience in communicating and negotiating at a senior management level
