Job Description

DIRECTOR OF STUDENT AND GRADUATE ALUMNI PHILANTHROPY, Alumni Association, to spearhead the strategic development and launch of new annual fund-raising campaigns for current graduate students and recent graduate student exclusive (GSE) alumni. Will be responsible for managing the GSE student and alumni gift campaign volunteers; developing and managing volunteer and event fund-raising strategy and providing oversight on and developing marketing and communications for all undergraduate and GSE student and recent alumni volunteer fund-raising campaigns; managing full-time staff working with annual undergraduate student philanthropy campaigns; and collaborating with staff across MIT to promote annual giving opportunities.

The MIT Annual Fund’s innovative approach to student engagement has had a lasting impact on the culture of philanthropy among students and young alumni. This is a unique opportunity to build new philanthropy programs for graduate students and recent graduate (GSE) alumni and enhance the strong tradition of the undergraduate student philanthropy programs.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: a bachelor’s degree; five years of professional experience, preferably in a higher education fund-raising environment; experience managing student and alumni fund-raising volunteers; strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; self-motivation; flexibility; and a high degree of tact and diplomacy. Must be an excellent manager of time, projects, and people who is able to work both independently and cooperatively and has had proven success collaborating as a member of a team.
