Additional Information:SUMMARY:This full-time position is responsible for numerous functions of the Academic and Development Coordination (ADC) department in the FAS Development office. The ADC department is responsible for managing the interface between FAS Development and the FAS dean and dean’s office, FAS administrators, and FAS faculty. This position reports to the Senior Associate Director, Academic and Development Coordination, under the guidance of the Assistant Dean, Faculty Affairs and Development Planning.The Assistant Director participates in FAS development planning, including researching, drafting, and vetting concept papers, gift opportunities, and other key content. Translates complex academic and development planning documents to create persuasive gift proposals and compelling fundraising-focused marketing materials in support of FAS fundraising priorities. Supports proactive collaboration and content sharing with AA&D colleagues.Develops and maintains positive working relationships with FAS administrative and academic offices and with AA&D colleagues. Creates development planning documents, concept papers, cases for support, gift opportunities, gift proposals, and other content that advance FAS fundraising priorities. Ensures all content is thoroughly researched and accurate, well written and edited, and compelling. Seeks input and vets materials with appropriate academic, administrative, and development leadership.2. Develops deep content knowledge of the FAS and oversees a portfolio of FAS fundraising priority areas. Produces ADC content that is audience specific and consistent in message, tone, and style, with particular sensitivity to the differentiation/balance between academics and marketing. Working with members of the ADC team and other AA&D colleagues, develops content that coordinates with other areas of FAS Development, AA&D, and the FAS.3. Under the direction of the Senior Associate Director, ADC, acts as a liaison between FAS Development and FAS administrative and academic offices. Researches questions regarding FAS-based issues and data.4. Provides advice and counsel, in alignment with University and FAS policies, to AA&D colleagues about FAS fundraising priorities and gift opportunities. Develops tracks, maintains, and shares information about gift-naming opportunities. Provides guidance related to gift levels, gift structures, and gift vehicles, and, when appropriate, identifies additional gift opportunities beyond FAS fundraising priorities.5. Researches and drafts training materials and assists with training coordination related to FAS fundraising priorities and fundraising-related projects. Contributes to ADC’s intranet content and is proactive in procuring information and producing documents that can assist AA&D colleagues in achieving FAS fundraising goals.6. Contributes to planning, processes, infrastructures, and policies to support the ADC team and FAS fundraising goals. Develops and maintains ADC records, resource guides, and systems/procedures. Records and archives planning processes, decisions reached, and next steps.7. Fosters a supportive and collegial work environment that focuses on shared values and common goals and that encourages mutual respect, constructive feedback, and openness to change. Contributes ideas for ADC team trainings and professional development.8. Undertakes FAS fundraising-related projects, such as the coordination of ad hoc committees and evaluative projects.
