The ideal candidate understands the need for a strong sense of customer service, has excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to establish professional relationships with colleagues and outside contacts across all levels of seniority with diplomacy, poise and tact. Candidate should have strong skills in written and oral communication, research, and proofreading. This position requires sound judgment, a high-level of discretion, and the ability to handle confidential information. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office and able to work with databases.

This will include:
Connecting faculty and speakers to discuss format and content;
Managing travel and other correspondence with dozens of scholars, journalists, practitioners, and other invited speakers;
Organizing staffing for events;
Coordinating with facilities, media services, photographers, and other vendors;
Ordering catering, preparing signage and name tents;
Processing reimbursements; and
Staffs events from set-up to clean-up.
The Events and Outreach Coordinator helps the Ash Center to refine, grow, and analyze strategic audiences across multiple programs (25%). Working closely with senior event, communications, and IS managers, the Events and Outreach Coordinator will help build and maintain an outreach and audience management system; monitor and update existing contacts; help coordinate audience-building efforts among various programs; research and identify new audiences; and develop and track analytics.
The Events and Outreach Coordinator provides administrative assistance to the Ash Center Executive Directors (25%). These responsibilities include support with scheduling; processing corporate cards and other financial transactions; and executing occasional special assignments and projects with the highest degree of confidentiality and judgment.
