Massachusetts Institute of Technology Associate Director, Regional Programs in Cambridge, Massachusetts
ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, REGIONAL PROGRAMS, Alumni Association (AA), to coordinate, create, and implement Alumni Association programs in person and virtually for and with alumni, but also parents, friends, and students residing within specific geographic areas or with specific shared interests. Will identify, enlist, and cultivate these constituencies in support of programs which are best suited for individual cities or interests; serve as primary liaison to a portfolio of regional alumni clubs and align with MIT and the AA’s mission and vision, develop a close working relationship with area volunteer leaders and donors to strengthen regional activities, and develop a vigorous and self-renewing volunteer leadership organization throughout the region; and collaborate with community managers for groups organized by a shared interest such as ethnicity, gender, or affinity interest in the delivery of regional or virtual programming offered on a regional basis.
REQUIRED: a bachelor's degree; a minimum of five years’ experience in alumni relations, annual fund, marketing, or public relations in a university or nonprofit setting; a demonstrated history of successfully developing programs strategically across multiple constituency groups to maximize results; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work as part of a team in a service-oriented environment; strong organization, analytical, and written and oral communication skills; initiative; detail-orientation; ability to recruit, motivate, train, and manage volunteers; and expertise with or willingness to learn Encompass and social media platforms. Knowledge of BSR Advance, Dreamweaver, and web presentation software such as WebEx helpful; as are data analysis and marketing and/or public relations experience. Job #14779-O
