Duties & Responsibilities Reporting to the Director of Reunions; recruits and maintains close relations with alumni volunteers to coordinate reunion activities, alumni engagement programs and other related events. Establishes rapport with alumni, volunteers, colleagues, vendors, leaders, and other constituents. Acts as liaison between reunion classes and HBS: providing expertise in coordinating events, developing and implementing marketing strategies, overseeing and arranging personalized mailings and E-communication, providing input on reunion budget, overseeing reunion database of registrations.Other duties: On-Site Reunion Management (estimated 80-100 hours/week 2-3 times a year)
Basic Qualifications 5 years directly related experience. Experience in event planning, especially working with volunteers
Additional Qualifications BA/BS desired.Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to represent HBS and the University professionally both internally and externally. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines and adhere to strict schedules on multiple projects.Must be able to relate to high-powered alumni constituency with poise and self-confidence. Strong professional, interpersonal, team and leadership skills; tactfulness and flexibility in working with diverse population groups. Sound judgment, the ability to analyze problems, and the ability to develop practical, cost-effective solutions to solve a variety of problems. Must be detail-oriented and efficient. Must be motivated to learn and flexible to change. Demonstrated creative and strategic-thinking qualities a plus. Ability to work independently, get projects done by enlisting the cooperation of others and manage details. Proven ability to supervise and motivate support staff and to work effectively with a team. Must be able and willing to work long hours, and available for frequent evening and weekend work. Experience with database-driven volunteer and/or event management technology. Strong computer skills a must: Word, Excel, HTML, Internet proficiency, other related applications and knowledge of databases. Ability to travel 1%-20% of the time. Knowledge of HBS ARO’s systems is a plus. Experience with Cvent database desirable
