Position Summary:

Reporting to the Architecture Group Manager, selected individual plans, programs, designs, authors, coordinates, and supervises construction of building projects for clients according to their desires, needs, and financial resources.

Technical/Functional Responsibilities:

  • Researches, programs, plans, designs and administers building projects for clients, applying knowledge of architectural design, construction detailing, construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials within the clients budget

  • Thorough knowledge of building codes is required

  • Plans and programs layout of project(s); coordinates and integrates all other discipline elements into unified design for client review and approval

  • Conducts periodic on-site observation of work during construction to monitor compliance with Detailed Design Documents. Familiar with construction administration procedures and processes.

  • May prepare client project presentations, studies, and reports

  • Utilizes computer-assisted design software and equipment to prepare project designs and plans (Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam, AutoCAD). Revit is preferred.

  • May direct activities of workers engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents for the Conceptual Design Phase, Schematic Design Phase, and/or the Detailed Design Phase of a project

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years related experience

  • Experience with private and municipal or Federal projects is a plus (i.e. rail, airport)

  • BA/BS in Architecture or MA (Master of Architecture)

  • Not registered as an Architect or on track for registration in the U.S. or other countries with applicable requirements

  • Not a participant in the intern development program (IDP) or actively pursuing licensing. Does not sign, stamp or seal drawings or represent Jacobs as an architect

  • Proficiency in building envelope detailing
