Five years or more of alumni relations and/or annual giving experience, preferably in annual giving or as a front-line fundraiser in a university or health care setting, or transferrable experience. Additional Qualifications:Demonstrated success in annual giving or applicable ability, writing alumni engagement and/or fundraising materials, devising cultivation and solicitation strategies, and volunteer and events management. Proven ability to motivate, engage and work with alumni, university officials, faculty, and staff or similar constituencies. Must be a professional, confidential, honest and trustworthy person with exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Must have an even disposition and be able to deal effectively and politely with people from diverse backgrounds and experience and in all types of difficult situations. Must have definite abilities to evaluate problems accurately and display good, sound and confidential judgment. Must be highly organized, responsive, detail oriented and efficient. Must have solid computer skills, including experience with database management, Word, and Excel. Must be collaborative, conscientious, and results-oriented. Department:Alumni Engagement, Office of Alumni Affairs and DevelopmentPre-Employment Screening:Education, IdentityJob Function:Alumni Affairs and Development Duties & Responsibilities:This full-time exempt position in Alumni Engagement reports to the Senior Director and is responsible for supporting alumni programming, communication, and solicitation activity; identifying, recruiting, and managing alumni volunteers in their work as fundraisers and community-builders; executing class reunion events; developing and implementing strategic reunion campaign plans and individual prospect strategies for three reunion classes annually; serving as a resource for alumni, volunteers, and donors in a portfolio of non-reunion classes; and more. Cultivate and engage alumni through events, volunteer management, and annual solicitation activity to build community and achieve annual fundraising and participation goals.Manage three reunion class volunteer committees annually, working with class leaders and volunteers to plan reunion week events and meet reunion fundraising dollar and participation goals.Establish Reunion committee calendar including planning and execution of Reunion gift committee meetings and conference calls; planning and execution of strategic social events; conducting volunteer leadership conference calls and other modes of volunteer outreach; establishing regular communication to provide updates to the committee; etc.Responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding leadership donors in Reunion. Determines the solicitation strategies for leadership gift prospects, in collaboration with Principal and Major Gift and Gift Planning colleagues and Senior Director. Manage three pre-reunion classes annually, focusing on volunteer recruitment, top prospect identification, leadership development, screening with alumni and members of the HMS community, prospect research, and annual leadership solicitation activity.Manage portfolio of non-reunion classes, serving as a resource for alumni, volunteer, and donor inquiries. Work with Class Agents to send personalized solicitation letters, identify volunteer solicitation assignments, and manage broader committee activity, if applicable. Identify Dean’s Council ($2,000+ annual leadership level) prospects and strive for acquisition and upgrade goals set in consultation with Senior Director of Alumni Engagement. Manage assigned special projects, programs, and/or initiatives in collaboration with AA&D colleagues, building productive relationships with HMS faculty and administrators and leveraging internal resources.Visit alumni to engage, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward to build community and meet visit goals established in collaboration with Senior Director of Alumni Engagement.Collaborate with the Alumni Engagement team to organize regional alumni activities and events (outside of and in addition to class event activity that falls within class portfolio).Collaborate with Senior Director and Executive Director of Alumni Engagement, Principal and Major Gifts, Gift Planning, Research, Gift Operations, Development Technologies, volunteers, and donors to further the cause of HMS alumni engagement and fundraising efforts. May work with faculty and senior administrators on events and individual prospect meetings.
