Project manages diverse portfolio of corporate event types ( seminars, executive roundtables, sponsorships) with specific teams mapped as event type specialists. Drives alignment of messaging and overall strategy; helps to ensure that the right event is delivered to the right audience at the right time. Drives creative thought process and continuous evaluation and refinement of Oracle*s event marketing portfolio. Provides management with reports and analysis on program efficacy for future program selection and budget allocation. Provides effective performance management: set clear goals for all staff, provide regular feedback on performance and conduct a formal appraisal at the conclusion of the fiscal year. Manage the activities of the staff according to overall marketing strategies and budgets. Implement organizational changes in line with changing business and market.
Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced business skills in area of event production and design. 8 years relevant work experience. Software business management experience. Marketing experience in the IT industry. Proven ability to manage budget, approval processes, resource allocations in terms of both people and money. Professional credentials in Marketing, Academic credentials desirable.

The Senior Marketing Manager for Corporate Events will lead the execution of integrated demand generation programs across paid, owned, earned, and shared communications channels to drive paid conference registration. You will manage a variety of projects with the cooperation of various, distributed teams, including Brand Creative, PR, AR, Corporate Social Media, Field Marketing, Sales, and Product Marketing and Management. And you ll use Modern Marketing technologies and methodologies such as marketing automation and audience segmentation analysis and tools.
Lead design of wireframe and specifications for conference microsites
Manage content, images/banners, and page tags for conference microsites; work through a dedicated/semi-dedicated web designer (in US or India); daily updates as needed to ensure accuracy of content
Track microsite metrics weekly; adapt site as needed
Work through oracle.com web team to ensure conference coverage
Execute email strategy by audience with custom messages by segment
Maintain Eloqua campaign canvas for external email with custom content by segment and pre-define actions based on recipient response
Define list segmentation by audiences, personas, relevant topic scores
Write compelling email content and subject lines based on current messaging, themes, sessions; A-B test for predict best response
Use custom tracking links to measure success; key metric is paid registration
Design flash sales and promotions, relevant by audience/relationship to Oracle, to boost event registration
Lead weekly/bi-weekly meetings with internal constitutes to share plans; brainstorm ideas
Build plan and timeline of messages with Field Marketing to send to Sales using range of channels
Create evites and messages for Sales to pass to customers
Maintain internal site with conference FAQs, demand generation materials, registration lists, etc.
Support Sales-driven contests with custom content and links
Write creative brief with event managers and product marketing to ensure cohesion of branding with audience and current messaging
Create Media Briefing document and work through Oracle Advertising and media agency to optimize reach using media and social channels
Write headline and copy; provide banners to media's specifications
Track results weekly/monthly through to registration
Conference Social Media
Coordinate with Event Social team, Product Social team to build out formal social plan (based on email plan and discount milestones)
Write social copy
Promote key posts via internal channels (i.e. Oracle Champions) to further reach
6 years in a content role (marketing, editorial, or communications)
Strong writing, editing, and communication skills; experience with email marketing, direct marketing copy, and conveying product/event content into easy-to-understand benefits
Experience with Eloqua multi-touch campaigns
Strong project management/organizational skills
Proactive, problem-solving skills
Ability to distinguish good content from fluff
- Comfortable working in a shared services workflow environment
Travel Component: Minimal. Approx. 10% travel within the United States and Canada may be required to successfully fill this role.
Position Location: Highly prefer candidates near Oracle Headquarters in Redwood Shores, CA. The role is based in North America and requires close coordination with virtual team. Open to considering candidates based in any US or Canada location; will work remotely from home office or in regional office as part of virtual team.
