Role Summary:

As our new VP of User Experience, you will combine your leadership and digital technology expertise to advance GE’s brand strategies. You will shape and develop the user experience talent and talent pipeline. You will directly contribute to strategic decision making related to user experience and GE products, building the future of digital technology at GE.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a digital technology organization, including shaping strategy and developing talent

  • Use advanced analytical thought and knowledge of industry/competitors to make complex judgments, often with incomplete information

  • Create a vision for the future using an understanding of internal and industry trends, and shape a strategy to execute that vision

  • Consistently identifies and translates user needs into solutions (digital and physical)

  • Lead the testing, presenting and refinement of solutions prior to approval and launch

  • Lead cross-disciplinary teams to concept and develop interactive solutions

  • Lead several simultaneous strategic projects with work streams that include user stakeholder research and competitive and heuristic assessments

  • Critically evaluates concepts and provides constructive feedback

  • Understand and clearly advocate for client business goals; develops, maintains and fosters client or stakeholder

  • Partner with executive leaders to understand business needs and create strategy to address those needs

  • Drive outside-in, consumer-centric thinking, doing, and building during the entire product process – from vision and exploration to narrowing and curation of every touch point to be excellent

  • Ensure world class design quality end to end, across all design competencies, e.g., visual, content, motion, interaction design, design prototyping and design research

  • Clearly communicate design direction and intent with customer-backed, and defensible, principles and frameworks

  • Evangelize the UX practice internally and externally Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interaction, Graphic, or Industrial Design preferred or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) or related field; or 4 years of equivalent work experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in user experience

  • A minimum of 6 years as people leader Eligibility Requirements
