As part of launching and growing this integrated product, Optum Analytics is looking for a senior leader who can successfully champion the new product in the marketplace, serve as a critical subject matter expert partner with our provider and payer - focused sales teams, and create a critical dialogue with our current and future client base in both markets around the value of the platform. This senior strategist will bring deep domain expertise in successful cross - continuum value - based care strategies and an understanding of the analytic and business intelligence needs payers and providers must address in order to successfully navigate the transition from fee for service to fee for value.
S / he will be expected to track our payer / provider market, build close relationships with the current client and prospect base and identify the strategic priorities for the product development organization. S / he will work closely with the product management team to translate those strategic market needs into functional architecture requirements and support the agile development, testing and client feedback process.
This leadership role is directly responsible for the alignment of our products and solutions to our current and future market, and for ensuring the long - term viability of our offerings. Primary Responsibilities: Serve as the subject matter expert on the analytics products and the integrated platform Play a significant role ensuring that the integrated analytic solutions meet or exceed revenue and market share goals by supporting the Client Services and Sales teams across the organization in socializing the new platform with new and existing clients Drive cross - functional alignment and ensure that overall product strategy comprehensively addresses current business needs and supports innovation and future growth Collaborate closely with the product management and product engineering teams to ensuring the seamless and ongoing translation and prioritization of market needs into functional product or services requirements that will drive development of the solution set Build a strong relationship, in partnership with Client Services, with our senior client stakeholders and client super - users to ensure an independent feedback loop between Product and our client base Lead processes aimed at capturing marketplace perception of value, including launching launch of a Client Advisory Board (or the like) to contribute to ongoing product strategy Supporting the Sales team in late - stage, consultative sales discussions as a subject matter expert in both the strategic needs of the prospect market and the technical capabilities of the current product and solution set Work with product marketing team to create client - facing, product specific sales collateral and case studies to identify key learnings Work closely with client services, sales and marketing to ensure that internal teams and clients are properly educated on both new and existing products When applicable, collaborate with Product Marketing to define the go - to - market strategy Support New Business teams as applicable in sourcing / negotiating agreements around new technologies and vendors that are direct extensions of the Optum One platform and / or solution set Developing mature partnerships with teams across the broader Optum organization to identify, scope and triage opportunities for other Optum offerings from the current client base Required Qualifications: Four - year degree in business, healthcare, or technology (or equivalent) 7+ years’ experience in product management, product strategy, payer / provider healthcare strategic leadership or related work 5+ years of experience with health care data and / or in large scale Population Health implementation efforts in the provider or payer space Proven ability to quickly understand the Health Systems ecosystem, and analyze and define product opportunities that provide competitive differentiation Demonstrated experience operating within the population health and accountable care framework An understanding of the analytic and business intelligence solutions within the payer and provider markets Subject matter expertise and demonstrated thought leadership around strategies payers and providers must pursue to successfully navigate the transition from fee for service to fee for value Passion for creating compelling solutions for the healthcare payers and providers and a strong desire to help shape the future of healthcare solutions Familiarity in relevant product management methodologies (i.e.
Pragmatic Framework, Agile / Scrum) Highly collaborative and able to build collaboration across multiple stakeholders in complex environments Strong decision - making capability.
Capable of digesting complex information to understand core issues, develop proposed solutions that align with client and market Equally capable of defining strategic imperatives and guiding the overall execution thereof Must be a high - energy self - starter who thrives in entrepreneurial and collaborative environments Own and support accountability for the product lifecycle Proactively bring new ideas and innovative solutions forth Proficiency with content management systems and third - party systems and platforms Willingness and ability to travel (up to 40% travel) Strong prioritization and exceptional communication skills Ability to fail - fast, recover and ultimately succeed Careers with Optum.
