Amazon Sr. Technical Program Manager , SMGS Ops - Strategic Planning & Engagement in Boston, Massachusetts

The AWS Sales, Marketing and Global Services Operations (SMGS Ops) team is looking for a passionate, organized, results-oriented, Sr. Technical Program Manager to build and manage security programs for the AWS Sales, Marketing Global Services (SMGS) organization.

As the Sr. Technical Program Manager, you will own and manage the Guardian Program for a set of internal customers, and support data quality initiatives, scale processes, and drive improvements with education, awareness and enablement for an enhanced customer experience. You will support a customer base across the entire SMGS organization. This role has significant impact to the business and requires a candidate that is passionate about raise the bar in technical program management, excellence of the tools, process, and dashboards we build and operate, and process optimization. You will also manage escalations from stakeholders and leadership, conduct voice of the customer feedback and drive regular reporting and analytics to inspect key performance indicators of the solution. In this role, you will need to balance the urgent needs of all stakeholders and create a path forward in the best interest of the company, often under conflicting opinions. You will display high level of ownership and accountability, and bring top-level oversight of the solution while also diving deep to problem solve and manage expectations for stakeholders. The ideal candidate brings strong technical program management, and influences technical teams to align around optimal solutions that scale in the long term.

Key job responsibilities

  • Drive projects cross functionally, build partnerships with other organizations, and work proactively with business teams to ensure objectives are met

  • Unlock information and insights for Senior Program Managers, Product Managers, General Managers, and Software Development Managers to help teams work smarter, with less repeated work or time spent chasing dependencies

  • Partner with tech leaders and program sponsors to plan and execute program strategy, develop training, and track key performance indicators

  • Write data driven business documents, proposals, and reports for organizations and executive team review

  • Develop dashboards using a variety of software used by customers to stay abreast of changes with the business

  • Identify pain paints and launch automation to limit people powered solutions that do not scale and are prone to error

  • Evaluate existing program operations and determine what good looks like– what stays, what goes, what should we do instead?

  • Establish technical program management best practices and development operations for the program

About Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS)

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical program management, project management, or operations management experience in software or tech

  • Proven track record of delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • BS or BA; or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in a role managing complex technology projects

  • Proficiency with cloud technologies

  • Entrepreneurial spirit with track record for delivering results in fast-moving environments

  • Passionate about operational excellence as a business enabler

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
