Great-West Corporate Retirement Plan Sr Marketing Manager - Large, Mega, Not For Profit in Boston, Massachusetts

The Retirement Plan Senior Marketing Manager oversees the development of promotion and sales systems/marketing programs for Empower Retirement. Partnering closely with field sales executives and internal sales teams, this individual will significantly impact business results by combining a strategic mindset with the ability to execute on key initiatives. Success is dependent on creative packaging skills, sales acumen, and a keen understanding of the institutional competitive landscape. This position supports Empower’s Large, Mega, and Not-for-Profit market segments.

The Empower value proposition resonates with plan sponsors and consultants, and this position requires an understanding of the needs of more sophisticated institutional market. The position reports directly to the VP of Advisor, Sponsor, and Investment Marketing, and interacts closely with Product Development and Service teams.

This role will partner with other marketing professionals and be supported by our internal creative agency.

  • Create a compelling sales story and packaging with a focus on digital execution

  • Develop sophisticated, cost-effective multi-media selling systems; train sales teams on their effective use

  • Develop and support impactful lead-generation campaign calendar, in partnership with sales

  • Identify key selection priorities and trends for plan sponsors and consultants

  • Establish a market-leading value proposition, including support of thought leadership content

  • Partner closely with Product Development, Sales, and Service teams for opportunities to innovate and evolve product offer

  • Measure effectiveness across a variety of dimensions to continuously refine the selling system

  • Occasional participation in sales presentations and site visits; limited travel required

  • Ability to evaluate and manage return on marketing investment

Insurance and FINRA 6, 26 and 63 licenses/registrations preferred

7-10 years of product/marketing management, preferably in Retirement services or related industries

Understanding of competitive marketplace

Familiarity with the latest marketing trends and technologies

Strategic planning skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Excellent project management skills

Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed environment

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

Normal office environment with some exposure to repetitive motion, as well as minimal exposure to bending, reaching, crouching, or other non-sitting, non-standing positions.
