Santander US routinely submits an arrayof written communications and submissions to its regulators and other officialbodies; these materials are of paramount importance and they must be accurateand comprehensive; easy to read and understand; and effectively conveySantander's perspective and overall narrative. Santander US seeks anoutstanding writer and communicator to help lead these efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Head of RegulatoryRelations, the Regulatory Relations Communications Specialist will supportvarious Legal & Corporate Affairs and other Santander US functions thatroutinely prepare correspondence and other materials delivered to regulatorsand other official bodies. This includes drafting formal regulatorycorrespondence, presentations and other materials, internal briefing documentsand memoranda, and other written products as needed.

  • The Regulatory Relations CommunicationsSpecialist is expected to have good working knowledge of the regulatoryenvironment in which Santander operates and an understanding of the Santanderbusiness lines and governance.

  • Draft or edit formal and informalregulatory communications, submissions and related internal and externalmaterials in a clear, simple manner to the greatest extent possible; advise andassist colleagues engaged in similar efforts.

  • Synthesize multiple data sets andcompose documentation that concisely tells the story emerging from the data,focusing on clarity for both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Ensure drafting adheres to companyprotocols and standards.

  • Develop a thorough understanding of thecompany's operations, business practices and regulatory objectives.

  • Manage version control of documentationproduced.

  • Develop and maintain collaborativeworking relationships with colleagues across various areas of the company.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accrediteduniversity required; major in English, Communications, Writing, Humanities orJournalism preferred; Graduate degree, particularly in Communications, Writing,English, Journalism or Law, desirable.

  • Business experience: Demonstratedability to consistently produce well-crafted, easy-to-read yet complex writtenproducts.

  • At least 3-5 years of experience inrelevant role preferred; banking or financial services industry experience andstrong familiarity with applicable regulatory environment and working with bankregulators required.
