The Proposal Manager will manage a team of proposal writers while developing, managing, and maintaining a database of proposal content for business development purposes. This role would partner with Product and service leaders in Outsourcing to ensure content and data is accurate and written appropriately. This partnership will enable Outsourcing Sales to maintain a knowledge base for use in new business proposals that is easily accessible and develop a knowledge sharing plan to help users work faster/better, in order to satisfy operating unit needs. To fulfill this role, the manager will:

  • Recruit and hire the most qualified applicants to meet the needs of the department.

  • Train, coach and manage all proposal writers and conduct annual performance evaluations.

  • Work with sales and sales operations personnel to establish priorities for RFP responses.

  • Establish department goals to maximize the service, efficiency, and productivity of the department.

  • Support short and long term operational and/or strategic business activities

  • Recommend changes in basic structure and organization of department to ensure the effective fulfillment of objectives assigned to it and provide the flexibility to move swiftly in relation to opportunities.

  • Assign and distribute work to Proposal Writers.

  • Serve as a strategic business partner to sales professionals, business leaders, and other colleagues by designing, developing, promoting and maintaining a comprehensive knowledge base, knowledge sharing plan and related internal communication process that facilitates the Outsourcing proposal process.

  • On a daily basis, update and refresh content based on the evolving nature of new business pursuits.

  • Proactively conduct debrief sessions to capture content updates not already submitted through normal daily processing.

  • Work closely and align with the businesses and regions to ensure Knowledge management plans and priorities reflect business objectives and needs. Update content as appropriate.

  • Maintain consistent process for updating content within "inciteKnowledge". Update process and technology as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree required, MBA preferred

  • 5 years progressive experience in managing RFP processes and knowledge management systems

  • Supervisory experience required

  • Strong people management skills

  • Ability to partner with the regional leaders, function leaders, and senior professionals

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects

  • Strong project management skills & organizational skills; attention to detail

  • Willingness to travel as required

  • Ability to work independently and on virtual teams

  • Innovative and entrepreneurial spirit to embrace change
