Description:

We are curently looking to hire a Tech Writer who will develop key reference materials for our clients IT network team, these materials will be used by various stakeholders to plan, build and support network infrastructure. Documentation will include technical standards, procedures, inventories, how-to-guides, and other artifacts.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Interview technical staff for content to be documented.

• Manage the portfolio of documentation.

• Ensure the quality and currency of documentation.

• Write design guides, roadmaps, procedures, policies, how-to guides; improve the writings of engineers.

• Manage the document review/approval steps for formal documents such as technical standards.

• Present highlights of new publications to stakeholders. Announce publication of new documents and advocate for their use by stakeholders.

MEASURES OF SUCCESS

• Publication of well-written, high quality reference materials.

• Demonstration of accurate and up-to-date documents.

• Population of document repository in the proper folder structure / file location.

• Completion of assigned documents within agreed-upon timelines.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

• Report directly to Director – Network Services.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCES

• Previous experience in a tech writer role.

• Excellent writing skills.

• Highly organized and self-motivated.

• Strong sense of ownership.

• Strong communications and relationship management skills.

• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Visio, Teams and SharePoint.

• High level knowledge of IT infrastructure networks and systems.

• Experience working in an IT department for medium or large enterprise (5,000 workers or more).

• Ability to write/communicate at various levels of technicality.

• Ability to manage time and meet deadlines.

• IT Network technical skills are highly desired. Previous experience as a network engineer is beneficial.

• Ability to create network diagrams.

• 4-year degree is preferred.
