Experience in Public Relations, including social media.

ThePurposeof Your Role
The Media Analyst serves as a junior spokesperson and provides a range of support to spokespeople in the external/media communications group. Some of the key responsibilities include: answering/handling phone calls on the primary phone lines used by reporters to contact Fidelity; monitoring the Corporate Affairs email inbox, the primary email used by reporters to contact Fidelity; daily internal news updates; distribution of company news releases; traditional and social media monitoring on a range of topics; back-up support for duties of other group support functions; organization and maintenance of group’s on-call schedule for media inquiries outside of work hours.
You will use proficient skills in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
You will use your knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn)
You will be extremely detail-oriented and possess strong written and verbal communicati9ons and organizational skills
Your demeanor - enthusiastic, self-motivated and hard-working, with a strong sense of ownership and involvement - will engender confidence in senior management
You will be able to work with flexibility and overtime if necessary
Assisting the group’s spokespeople with media research, messaging development and outreach
Serving as a junior-level spokesperson
Answering/handling phone calls on the primary phone lines used by reporters to contact Fidelity
Monitoring the Corporate Affairs email inbox, the primary email used by reporters to contact Fidelity
Support for group’s social media activities
Daily internal news updates
Distribution of company news releases
Social and traditional media monitoring on a range of topics
Media research, including internal coverage reports, ad hoc research for spokespeople
Administrative management of electronic compliance review for external communications documents
Management and maintenance of firm-wide Corporate Media Relations Calendar
Scheduling and support for group and inter-group communications meetings
Management and maintenance of internal library of publications
Compilation and maintenance of group activity metrics, shared documents, etc.
Organization and maintenance of group’s on-call schedule for media inquiries outside of work hours
Back-up support for duties of other group support functions

Your role is critical to contribute to the success of the external/media communications group within the Communications, Public Affairs and Policy group. In your role as Media Analyst in supporting communicators across the external group, you play a key role in helping to protect and promote Fidelity reputation, increase the quality and share of Fidelity’s voice in the media, help reporters understand the totality of Fidelity’s capabilities and be viewed as a thought leader in the eyes of external audiences.
