Sr. Relationship Manager – Middle Market Banking (Boston, MA)

The Bank of America Global Commercial Bank is seeking a Senior Relationship Manager to join our Boston, MA team to focus on the High Technology industry. The Global Commercial Bank serves public and private companies with annual revenues of $50 million to $2 billion. This position will be based in Boston, MA.

The Relationship Manager (RM) will be responsible for generating and managing a portfolio of high technology companies. The RM is accountable for prospecting and on-boarding new relationships. The RM will have the ability to engage in dialogue with CEO and CFO levels regarding the high tech industry and how Bank of America can service their needs. The RM has the skill set in order to assess the risks and impacts from both the company’s and bank’s perspective and develop and implement an overall client strategy. In addition to prospecting new business, the RM is accountable for enhancing existing relationships and serves as the client’s primary bank advocate and key financial advisor. The RM must be well versed in all Bank of America products and services for proper identification of cross-selling opportunities. A working knowledge of global treasury products would be useful. The RM is responsible for leading and coordinating key team members in the effective delivery of the appropriate products and services to clients and prospects. Proven sales skills and experience, including planning, execution and follow up of client meetings. Must be able to read and analyze financial statements, especially cash flow statements, assess financial condition, and understand industry trends.

*Position may be filled as a Sr. Relationship Manager or a Relationship Manager, depending on experience and qualifications.


  • Undergraduate degree required: Majors in business, finance or economics preferred. MBA desirable.

  • Completion of formal credit training.

  • Series 7, 63 (Must obtain series 7 & 63 license within 180 days of start date.)

  • Must have 10 - 20 years of experience in Commercial Lending.

  • Proven track record of prospecting new business.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage and grow a portfolio of clients with revenue between $50 million and $2 billion.

  • Ability to understand and interpret the principles of accounting and finance.

  • Financial modeling experience.

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership ability.

  • Capable of organizing, facilitating, leading and negotiating with team of bank associates to solve client problems.


  • Existing knowledge of the market preferred.

  • Existing knowledge of global treasury products.

  • Active member/participation in local community organizations

  • Highly desirable to have active networking contacts and Centers of Influence established in local markets.
