Bank of America’s Global Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Group supports the company’s Responsible Growth strategy by working with lines of business and support groups to integrate ESG leadership into everything we do. The Community Affairs group - part of the ESG Group - serves as a liaison between key external stakeholders and our lines of business and support functions.

The Position of ESG Program Manager – Community Affairs is responsible for working closely with the lines of business and our support teams to manage community affairs and ESG-related issues and processes, especially those related to the needs of our low to moderate income communities, clients, and other stakeholders. The ESG Program Manager – Community Affairs would work closely with colleagues throughout the company, including colleagues in the Local Market Delivery, Marketing, Public Policy, and ESG teams, as well as throughout the lines of business and other support functions.

Responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, serving as a project manager and driving multiple community affairs initiatives internally and externally, partnering with the local market delivery team on community engagement processes, working on community-related marketing efforts, and managing stakeholder engagement efforts.

The ideal candidate would have a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects across a matrixed organization. The ideal candidate would also have demonstrated his or her ability to work effectively with external stakeholders, such as community and advocacy organizations, and would have knowledge of the financial services industry.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 7 – 10 years' experience in related field

  • Track record of successful experience across functions and disciplines

  • Track record of success within complex, matrix-ed organizations

  • Strong project management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities at once

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; collaboration and influencing skills; leadership skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and other business technologies
