Job Summary: Lead the organization’s efforts to develop, communicate, execute and sustain a strategy that reflects the mission and core values, including diversity, innovation, integrity and leadership. This is a highly visible role which brings focus to innovative, transformational, and strategic opportunities for the organization. Sponsor and drive an innovation program and culture across the organization. Collaborate with organizational leadership to identify strategic opportunities and plans to execute on those opportunities. Be a champion for new ideas and a powerful catalyst for enhancing and accelerating innovation throughout the organization.
Direct the organization's strategic planning program. Develop, manage, and maintain the organization’s strategic plan. Lead regular strategic review meetings with senior management. Execute on a comprehensive strategy to monitor and communicate performance organization-wide.
Foster and build business relationships across the organization to drive strategic priorities and creative business solutions. Partner with business areas to support and enhance strategic opportunity seeking.
Create and lead the development of an “accelerator lab” to bring more innovations to market for the organization and enhance the culture for problem solving. Strengthen organizational capability to innovate, through training and application.
Increase awareness of innovation throughout the organization and clarify and strengthen avenues for ideas to advance. Is accountable for an innovation pipeline of projects. Oversee the development of innovation analytics and assess return on investment. Define key metrics, deliverables and outcomes for technology solutions that align with business goals.
Build valuable partnerships with external innovation leaders and organizations, including industry associations, academia, and counterparts across the Federal Reserve System. Represent the organization and identify opportunities for external collaboration through participation in initiatives, events, and conferences.
As part of the leadership team for Corporate Strategy & Risk, contribute to the development and advancement of the department’s priorities and business objectives.
This position reports to the Vice President, Corporate Strategy & Risk and works closely with senior executives, including the First Vice President and executive champions for innovation.
Other Accountabilities: Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervision: Responsible for the direct supervision of staff members. May also direct efforts in matrix managed environment where resources report to other management structures.
Knowledge and Skills: • Knowledge and experience normally acquired through, or equivalent to, the completion of a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 10 years of job-related experience. MBA or Master’s degree preferred. • Strong leader with the ability to think both strategically and analytically. • Excellent verbal and executive presentation and written communications skills. • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including executive management. Strong networking, collaboration, and influencing skills. • Knowledgeable of leading concepts and practices in strategy development and innovation (e.g., strategic opportunity analysis, design thinking, digital transformation, automation). • Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating teams, planning, and project management, with a proven record of connecting business challenges with creative/transformative solutions. • Ability to operate with a high degree of independence and autonomy.
