CRICO Director of Business Development in Boston, Massachusetts

Manages and leads all new business development efforts, from prospecting, customer development, through closing the sale, with a focus on driving revenue for RFMS. Responsible for collaborating with corporate and department leaders on all aspects of business development, ranging from strategic planning to sales to implementation and execution of new business. Discerns industry trends and anticipates potential needs in the healthcare system to position Strategies’ products and services in the most beneficial manner for its clients and the division's continued expansion. Understands and seeks to address the risk mitigation concerns of hospital and office-based clinicians both within CRICO and among the Strategies client base.

Business Development

  • Accountable for new business and overall new revenue growth for Strategies (30%)

  • Converts relationships into sales, writes proposals, and closes sales through a consultative sales process (30%)

  • Develops new products and services based on customer needs; implements a marketing plan and develops long-term business relationships (10%)

  • Represents CRICO at industry conferences and meetings (10%)

  • Collaborates with team on new products and services to be developed based on customer needs, using market research and customer surveys that fit within overall long term CRICO goals (10%)

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with IT and Patient Safety (10%)

  • Performs other related duties and ad hoc projects as required by position

  • Develops long and short term goals for the organization

  • Researches organizations and individuals online (especially on social media) to identify new leads and potential new markets

  • Contacts potential clients via email or phone to establish rapport and set up meetings

  • Prepare sales contrats ensuring adherence to law-established rules and guidelines

  • Performs other relevant duties as required by position

  • Keep detailed records of business development activity in CRM tool

  • 10 years business development experience within health care or insurance industry; consulting experience a plus

  • BS/BA degree required/MBA preferred

  • Sincere interest in and commitment to CRICO/RMF’s mission of promoting safety

  • Ability to influence, build-relationships, interact with and present to CEOs, senior-level leaders, and boards of trustees

  • Track record of meeting and/or exceeding sales quotas and expectations

  • Skilled negotiator with a consultative sales approach that can operate in a matrixed sales environment

  • Highly developed quantitative skills, analytical, and problem solving abilities

  • Knowledgeable of analytics environment and hospital, healthcare, and insurance business needs and challenges

  • Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines and priorities

  • Ability to rapidly think through various issues and respond in an appropriate and articulate manner

  • Ability to travel for client presentations and business development as needed (up to 25%)
