Create and oversee a measureable, comprehensive strategic communication plans for the staff functions that are driving culture change across Santander US- a strategy that aligns with broader Santander US communications plan, drives culture and internal brand goals and objectives and ensures coordination across the units and the businesses for maximum impact.
Provide top-notch strategic executive communications support to the leaders in the staff functions including presentation development, speechwriting, intranet blog postings, road shows, appearances at internal and industry events, and the development and placement of "thought leadership" pieces in appropriate outlets (publications, social media, etc).
Serve as strategic communications adviser to these leader's teams.
Provide leadership, counsel and training to the executive team and other key leaders within the staff groups on communications strategies, key messages, and critical business issues.
Serve as point of contact and liaison between staff functions and the shared communications functions e.g., collaborate with media, events and intranet teams to provide full service communications support to this important LOB.
Lead team dedicated to internal change communications fostering a can-do, roll-up-your-sleeves, customer-focused environment emphasizing teamwork, collaboration, flexibility and strategic thinking.
Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, PR or related field.
Master's degree preferred.
10- 15+ years communications or related experience, 5+ years leading and developing a team.
Excellent writing skills, hands on experience with a wide array of traditional and digital channels (internal and external); excellent organizational and project management skills.
Demonstrated strategic thinker with expertise in influencing business strategy and aligning communications with strategic and business objectives.
Ability to adapt plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges, industry shifts and economic changes.
Strong executive presence with proven ability to engage leadership-level stakeholders with appropriate level of confidence, credibility and confidentiality.
