In this role, you would:

Experience design: You will help guide your team to uncover what customers think, feel and value by using insights from user research, site metrics, and industry trends to drive the experience design for key customer journeys.

Collaborative, agile delivery: You will collaborate with multiple functions to bring new experiences to market using agile methodologies. You will continuously evolve design strategy based on user feedback and test results to ensure solutions deliver real value to customers.

Talent development: You will coach and mentor a team of designers, providing ongoing feedback to help them strengthen their design techniques and develop their business consulting, communication and presentation skills. You will ensure the right team members are deployed to the right problems in order to get the best results.

Evolve design standards: You will partner across the organization to help ensure continuity across channels and touch points for key customer journeys. You will contribute to the development of a living design system to improve cohesion across the digital portfolio and support the brand strategy.

**This position can be located either in Boston or Portsmouth.

This role might be for you if you have:

  • A degree in Interaction Design, Experience Design, HCI or related field. Master’s preferred.

  • 10 years in user experience design. High-volume transactional experience preferred.

  • Well-rounded UX skills – killer interaction design skills with demonstrated capabilities in 1-2 additional disciplines (IA, research, content strategy and/or visual design) are preferred.

  • Experience working with business and development teams throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Proven delivery of business and customer value achieved through shipped products.

  • Experience mentoring design talent and leading project teams; direct management and experience building teams strongly preferred.

  • Experience using the Design Thinking framework and other human-centered design techniques, including persona development and journey-mapping.

  • Strong storytelling skills, ability to pitch creative concepts to executive audiences.

  • Experience with rapid prototyping using tools such as Axure, Invision or UXPin.

  • Familiarity with responsive design and front-end development languages (CSS, HTML)

  • Experience creating design systems, style guides and/or pattern libraries a plus
