Your Role

Under supervision of a licensed architect, assist in developing the strategy for production and construction documents implemented in commercial and institutional projects, including design standards definition for lifespan of a studio project.

What You Will Do

  • Perform data definition and element coordination within BIM (Revit or ArchiCAD) based on set construction elements and standards.

  • Assist in creating concept and schematic design packages.

  • Organize and administer surveys, focus groups, stakeholder interviews and vision sessions to inform design concepts.

  • Assist Project Manager/Architect to establish design standards, space planning, and programming based on clients' functional and spatial requirements while meeting conceptual design goals. Using site surveys, design sketches, and other inputs, prepare complex digital architectural models using REVIT/ArchiCAD and based on BIM development standards.

  • Produce computer generated renderings, graphs, charts, overlays, and isometric drawings from detailed sketches. Utilize CAD, 3Ds Max, Sketchup, or hand drafting to communicate design concepts to clients and colleagues. Analyze architectural sketches, notes, and complete other input material to determine the best approach for the completion of drawings.

  • In conjunction with Project Architect/Manager, resolve technical/design issues to maintain plan progress and quality control. Ensure that construction detail documentation and specifications conform to highest quality specifications and best practice standards using Revit or alternate designated design system. Determine the best approaches for the completion of drawings, and solve technical issues related to finishes and materials.

  • Participate in construction administration of project assignments and act as contact person for new architecture projects, working with consultants, contractors, fabricators, specification writers, as well as regulatory agencies to meet overall project goals. Lead the development, deployment, and support of Autodesk and Graphisoft ArchiCAD Products within the studio.

Your Qualifications

  • Master's degree or equivalent in Design, Interior Design, Urban Planning, Architecture or a related field and seven (7) years of experience in an architecture related occupation.

  • International expertise in engaging a broad spectrum of communities to lead strategic user engagement processes including focus groups, surveys, stakeholder interviews, and vision sessions that inform the design of the project.

  • Experience with design of projects in the United States, Middle East, and South America, cognizant of the cultural differences among them.

  • Experience performing research initiatives at a global scale to further the education practice area and to share the research in learning spaces internationally through conferences, workshops and summits.
