Responsible for delivering on the annual and quarterly business plan financials for the Pharma/Biopharma business unit in Bruker Daltonics (BDAL) divisions’ life sciences mass spectrometry business. Accountable for establishing business processes that ensure business unit growth objectives are met, new product development, new product launches, marketing, marketing communications, and applications. Develop an organization that is capable of growing faster than the market by instilling business processes that enable the team to exceed set financial targets, through structured inter-department business planning process. Assist in developing and communicating clear and consistent messaging top-down and bottom-up to align with growth aspirations of executive management.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • As the senior executive, the key objective is to meet the fiscal year business plan objectives and develop strategic plans that deliver predictable long term organic growth in the pharma/biopharma markets.

  • Senior executive responsible for execution of strategy through development of structured inter-departmental and inter-divisional/group processes that deliver on business plan objectives.

  • Responsible for annual business plan setting, incentive plans, and performance management for direct reports in the pharma/biopharma business unit located globally.

  • Work closely with other regional commercial directors to drive implementation of region-specific programs such as key account management, demo lab structure, and regional apps support that target high growth markets.

  • Ph.D. preferred in a scientific discipline and/or at least 15 years’ experience in the field of life sciences mass spectrometry.

  • Demonstrated oral & written communications and interpersonal/relationship skills – particularly intercultural skills; strong customer orientation at a global level.

  • Must have commercial experience, management of R&D, operations, and marketing experience, including budgeting and P&L experience.

  • Must have experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Dynamics CRM &/or Salesforce packages.

  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix environment and in foreign cultures.

  • High level of intensity and positive approach to embracing change.

  • Ability to schedule multiple tasks and priorities.

  • 70% or more travel required.
