Dell Sr. Market Research Manager (Market & Competitive Intelligence) in Bedford, Massachusetts

Job Description:

The Market Research Manager is responsible for designing, executing and delivering high-impact quantitative and qualitative primary market research projects including product/market fit, market segmentation, product/feature concept testing and competitive intelligence. As a member of the Product Marketing team at RSA, the Market Research Manager will focus primarily on research that extends the team’s understanding of the market, but will also support other research projects. The role will select the appropriate research methodology and supporting techniques to meet a defined business objective, develop the research instrument, and ensure the successful execution of the fieldwork. Upon completion, the Market Research Manager reviews the collected data, authors reports and makes business-oriented recommendations to the sponsoring client.


  • Communicate and collaborate with Product Marketing/Product Management to understand and document research requirements

  • Design qualitative and quantitative research plans for products in all stages of the Product Life Cycle

  • Recommend/select the most appropriate research methodology and techniques

  • Design and execute innovative quantitative and qualitative research to support the marketing organization

  • Translate research findings into actionable insights that will establish product market fit, shape positioning and messaging, and development of product level narratives

  • Working with internal and external resource to oversee the fieldwork initiative

  • Define processes, establish resources, and manage programs that gather and analyze competitive intelligence


  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience executing custom primary market research

  • A minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in B2B/enterprise technology, security

  • Demonstrated quantitative and qualitative experience including hands-on experience in Survey and Discussion Guide writing, Quantitative and Qualitative Data Analysis

  • Proven track record of using primary and secondary research to influence executives and colleagues

  • Problem solving skills and ability to move from concept to a well-defined research problem matched with a suitable methodology.

  • Exceptional written and oral communication abilities

  • Strong analytic skills with experience in statistical modeling and analysis

  • Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint


  • Bachelors or advanced degree in business, mathematics, or the sciences
