Position Summary:

The

Sr. Director Product Management – Data Acquisition and Management HSGBU will

have accountability for leading a team which defines, specifies, and works

through the delivery of key products within the HSGBU eClinical portfolio. Specifically this leader will provide input

into HSGBU products providing industry leading data acquisition and data

management capabilities to the life sciences marketplace. Key to the position is strong domain

knowledge in clinical data management as well as strong product knowledge of electronic

data capture, and data management systems.

He/she

will ensure that the Oracle Health Sciences eClinical portfolio of

best-in-class solutions services the current client base as well as new clients

and prospects. The ideal candidate will

be a true product evangelist with extensive experience in delivering data and

application solutions to pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device and

clinical research organizations. He/she

will create passion and excitement for the Oracle solutions and be a product/industry

thought leader. This individual will be able to clearly discuss and

communicate solution value and benefits to internal stakeholders, as well as customers,

prospects, and partners.

  • Strong leadership and executive presence in

order to evangelize the product roadmaps and value propositions to internal and

external audiences, including sales, analysts, customers and prospects

  • Knowledge and experience in delivering cloud

based services and solutions. Act as a

subject matter expert on cloud deployment and an evangelist of cloud computing

and all the internal and external benefits.

  • Responsibility for all aspects of the solution

delivery. Ability to keep an eye on the future while ensuring the current

solutions are being sold and meeting client needs.

  • Knowledge of Agile for delivering software services. Specific familiarity with product owner role

and backlog management.

  • Excellent influencing and collaboration skills

to develop and deploy successful solutions by working with all departments and

stakeholders facilitating successful delivery execution.

  • Keen business sense to assess and prioritize

tradeoffs that affect features, schedule, budget and market positioning.

  • Proven track record of on time, on budget

product delivery

Responsibilities:

  • Directly and indirectly manage staff,

contractors and budget required to complete a broad range of complex software

delivery and implementation projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.

  • Lead cross-functional, multi-cultural and

geographically diverse teams in the delivery of new and enhanced software

solutions serving the life sciences market.

  • Normalize and prioritize market requirements

from all stakeholders; including clients, sales, product strategy, engineering,

consulting, services, support, marketing, business operations, and legal.

  • Decompose market requirements into product

delivery specifications. Effectively

communicate specifications across the entire product delivery team and ensure

successful fulfillment of market requirements.

  • Ensure regular updates to the product roadmap

and constantly analyze new product requirements/opportunities.

  • Monitor the product life cycle from inception

through operation and maintenance; ensure consistency with the strategic vision

and market/customer requirements.

  • Work with Sales and Account Management teams to

win new clients and retain existing clients with high satisfaction.

  • Lead and/or participate in Client Advisory Board

Programs; lead an ongoing client feedback process and incorporate input into

product development process.

  • Transparently communicate product delivery

schedules to all stakeholders at appropriate levels of specificity and detail

based on the audience.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • BS or MS degree in public health, health

administration, engineering, business, marketing, or a related field required.

In addition, the individual must have demonstrated exceptional

performance in a solution delivery and/or product management role and have a

minimum of 12 years experience.

  • Clinical research, electronic data capture, and

data management software experience an absolute must.

  • Experience

and knowledge with InForm, DMW, and Oracle Clinical/RDC preferred.

  • Experience

developing commercial software solutions using an Agile software development

methodology.

  • Working

knowledge of platform tools – relational databases, and business intelligence

tools.

  • Strong

knowledge of cloud computing technologies and deployment models.

  • Ability to successfully collaborate internally

with professionals in the marketing, business development, sales, engineering,

product strategy, and finance groups to lever the respective strengths and

assets of the company to achieve business objectives.

  • Demonstrated

experience working with broad cross-functional teams with ability to sell ideas

and plans to internal constituencies, executives, customers, analysts, and

partners.

  • Excellent

oral and written communication skills and group presentation skills.

  • Must

be able to effectively maintain/build relationship across business groups.

Ability and willingness to travel

modestly – to support select team, sales and speaking opportunities

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Manage a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a Senior Director in the product development division, you will lead a team that defines product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Envision and communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Directs and ensures the implementation of operational policies through subordinate managers. Interacts internally and externally with executive management, providing negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy. Functional expertise and broad company knowledge important. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development and product management. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience preferred.
