Director of Communications Strategy
Play your part in building and leading our new Communications strategy team to succeed!
Could you play a vital role in building & leading a new team of communication strategists, helping them plan exciting integrated communications experiences using everything LEGO has to play with?
We are looking for a senior strategist with strong leadership experience to join our LEGO Agency (internal agency in the AMS) Leadership Team and Strategy Team. You will bring with you experience in thought and implementation leadership- someone who knows their owned from their earned and has experience in consumer journeys, and who still gets as excited about a planning process as they do about big, bold, brave ideas.
The LEGO Agency is the global LEGO in-house advertising agency, creating award-winning and compelling content and campaigns for the LEGO brand. The Global Communication Strategy department is all about understanding audience behaviours and inspiring creative work. The team leads and develops strategies for all LEGO channels, earned, owned and paid. The Agency helps to lead the creation of the most engaging and effective strategies for kids, adults and brands.
Core Responsibilities
Build and lead a team of communications strategists in a newly formed team within the strategy department of the LEGO Agency AMS
Grow and develop the team, the wider agency and key collaborators in the field of multichannel communications planning, combining owned, earned, paid and shared media
Provide thought leadership and educate key partners internally on the best industry practices
Acts as a connector across key voices to drive awareness, innovations and impact
Support the team in bringing big ideas to life across our ecosystem in both campaign periods and across the year, through clear, compelling and connected user journeys across multiple touchpoints
Apply your understanding of how brands grow, and how effective comms build impact and get results
Help to craft and develop our planning processes and collaboration across marketing and channel teams
Interested and curious about the world, challenges our view, and brings new perspectives to how we work
Do you have what it takes?
Professional experience and relevant Marketing/Media qualifications
Proven experience in a communications planning or strategy role, responsible for channel and campaign planning, and communication architecture
Strong leadership skills with experience working in and leading cross functional teams.
Experience designing new processes, tools and ways of working to deliver integrated communications
Experience using data-driven planning tools, audience insight (qual and quant) and effectiveness data to build plans
Experience of working with channels / media owners to develop creative and executional thinking
Ability to stay ahead and move with consumer behaviors, technology platforms, and cultural shifts
Excellent leadership and communication skills, acting as a key member of our strategy leadership team
Passion for helping to create communication work that has an impact, that matters and that’s memorable
Media agency experience is a plus along with a strong strategic creative agency
Fluency in English required
Nice to Have
Experience within a global strategy/planning context beneficial, or working within a ‘multiple markets / regional’ capacity
Experience in Kids/Toy brand preferred, but not essential
Excellent presentation skills
